Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the many programs and services at Mill Race Center.  Opportunities range from delivering Meals on Wheels to staffing activities to serving as Welcoming Volunteers for the lobby information desk.Volunteers are also key to serving on committees and task forces that develop new programs for MRC.


Individuals wishing to volunteer may complete an application at the Center.  A volunteer handbook is available, and more detailed information about specific positions may be obtained by contacting Charlene Lewis at the center by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Newsletter Assistants needed to help assemble the newslet-ter for mailing. This is a great way to get connected and meet new people. Refreshments are provided.

Dates: Tuesday April 30th, Tuesday June 25th, Tuesday August 27th, Tuesday October 28 and Tuesday December 17th. We begin at 8:00 a.m. and usually finish by 1:00 p.m. 

Come for an hour or stay the whole morning. We appreciate the help!!

McDowell Education is in need of volunteers to help adults with basic reading skills. Volunteers are asked to make a 1 ½ to 2 hour commitment per week for a minimum of 6 months. For more information or to volunteer, call Michelle at 376-4451

White Shirt Servers needed to help with our Friday Night Live Events. Help needed in setting tables, serving dinner and clean up. Benefits include: free dinner and entertainment along with getting connected and meeting new people. Both men and women would be appreciated.
