Zumba Fitness with Monica Kozar

Monica is certified in Zumba Fitness and Zumba Toning and will be leading classes every Monday night. The cost is $5 per class, paid each visit, or you may purchase a 10 visit pass for
only $40!


Each class is different so don’t feel the need to come to every one, but don’t miss out. Zumba is one of the newest and hottest ways to get fit and have FUN doing it. Bring your friends, and
don’t forget your comfortable clothes and tennis shoes to work out in. H20 is essential so don’t forget to bring enough to cool down with during and after the fun ends. Classes will include
accommodations for folks needing them to keep up, so don’t be afraid to attend!!

Thanks to Mayor Kristen Brown, County Commissioner Chair Larry Kleinhenz and County Council Chair Bill Lentz for inaugurating the VIP Luncheon Series.

Coming up on May 22
will be a focus on Law Enforcement with Sheriff Mark Gorbett and new Columbus Police Chief Jason Maddix. Sheriff Gorbett and Chief Maddix will discuss current challenging law enforcement issues in Bartholomew County, in particular those of interest to older adults.

Menu for the day will be Beef Manhattan, Mashed Potatoes, 5 way Veggies, Salad, and Jello. Make a reservation for lunch by calling 376-9241. Cost for lunch:
$3.50 if age 60+; and $5.00 over the age of 60.

On June 22 Jack Hess, President of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce will join us to discuss the business and employment environment in Bartholomew County, and initiatives the Chamber has spearheaded to keep the community moving forward.

Menu for this day will be Country Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Salad, and Ice Cream. Cost for lunch: $3.50 if age 60+ and $5.00 over age 60. Be sure to call

Good To Great And The Social Sectors (3:30 pm - 5:00 pm)

Do you have ideas how we can make Mill Race Center better for all concerned? Please consider participating in a three week seminar, facilitated by Executive Director Bob Pitman, that will utilize the monograph “Good To Great and the Social Sectors” written by Jim Collins. During the seminar, you’ll learn about Good to Great concepts like “the hedgehog concept”, “getting the right people on the bus”, “level five leadership”, and “turning the flywheel”. Then you’ll use the concepts to develop strategies for improving Mill Race Center. The Seminar will be three consecutive Thursdays May 17, 24 and 31 from 3:30-5:00 in the classroom. Please contact the front desk to sign up. There is no charge for this program.
